Our time in Paris was great! I'm only going to blog about our 1st day because we did so much.
On our first day we left Heidelberg on a train at 6:00 a.m. and arrived in Paris around 10:00 a.m. When we arrived we went on a boat cruise on the Seine River around Paris and saw some pretty cool things.

One thing the tour guide on the boat talked about was a bridge we went under. It had tons of padlocks on it. The locks are from couples who visit the bridge.
As a symbol of their eternal love they put a lock on and toss the key to the lock into the water below.
After the boat cruise, we walked to the Cathedral of Notre Dame but didn't go in because the line was too long.
That night after checking into the hotel and eating some dinner,
we went to the Arc de Triomphe. We walked lots of stairs to get to the top where there was a good view of Paris. The Arc de Triomphe is a monument to the French military and burns an eternal flame at the bottom with France's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

It has a huge traffic circle around it which is crazy to watch with lots of cars and people on bikes all going around the circle.
After that we went to go find some desert. We found a little restaurant down the road from the hotel we stayed at. My Aunt had chocolate cake that she woke up dreaming about the next morning. I had an a
pple tart that was really good.
Oh...such memories....we did the same things when we were there visiting Adam and Alison. Paris is very busy with people and cars. Mrs. Stevenson
